Business Silverdale is an association of business members who want to work with other business members to grow the opportunities for business profits, revenue, and customer satisfaction within the Silverdale, Red Beach, Manly Village, Gulf Harbour and Whangaparaoa business areas.

No gimmicks, no catches, just plain commonsense people like you, and our community, who help each other.

We meet to give everybody the opportunity to network with other Silverdale, Red Beach, Manly Village, Gulf Harbour and Whangaparaoa business people, learn about actions that are underway to raise awareness and the profile of businesses, sometimes to hear a good business speaker to challenge your ideas and stimulate your mind, identify any council issues, and benefit from some positive energy.

• Provide an opportunity for increased economic benefits and development within the business district.
• Raise awareness and profile of business within the business district.
• Provide opportunities for networking between members, and encourage regular communication between businesses.
• Be a liaison and voice between the council and members.
• Facilitate educational opportunities via seminars, guest speakers and business training.
• Encourage and retain business from local residents in the community.
• Participate in, and encourage, open communication with other business associations.
• Identify promotional opportunities, and co-ordinate where applicable to get business association membership awareness.
• To encourage the retail members of the business to run their own retail business promotions.
• Provide information, identify opportunities, and facilitate access for business mentoring, training and development.
• Inform and communicate to members industry news, business updates, relevant issues, by email.
• Produce promotional material as defined by members, if required.
• Formulate and implement annual business awards.
• Encourage collective marketing and promotional opportunities where applicable.
• Develop brand perception, and awareness of the brand of “Business Whangaparaoa” and “Business Silverdale”.
• Work with the council to leverage promotional opportunities.
• Work with and encourage support from the council and other agencies to achieve new business development.
• Promote good business practices, customer service, positive employer/employee relationships, and ethical business activities.
• Co-ordinate with tourism groups to increase visitor numbers to the region.
• Develop pride, association, and belonging with businesses, residents and communities.
• Develop relationships with local schools and community groups.
